Flowers

Two main types of marijuana strain are popular – Indica and Sativa. Indica strains induce the couch-lock effects, while Sativa causes cerebral high making users to feel elevated and energized. However, the market is saturated with a hybrid of these two main strains and offers a little of both types. THC and CBD are cannabinoids that impact the overall effect. Even aromatic oils secreted [terpenes] modulate cannabinoids effect and induce their own effect. Hybrids can be Sativa-dominant or indica-dominant.

The preferred marijuana strains sold at the dispensary in San Juan are Blue Dream, Green Crack, Girl Scout Cookies, Jack Herer, Skywalker OG, Gorilla Glue, and Strawberry Cough. If you are new, try these familiar strains for a start!

Concentrates

Concentrates are procured through the extraction process. The solvents like ethanol, butane or CO2 are used to extract cannabinoids from the cannabis plant. Some extracts hold THC at its highest level of 80%. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound. Concentrates are available in a variety of consistencies ranging from glass-like to oily and different purity levels because of the diverse extraction method used.

Budder

Budder is created during the butane extraction process when the wax is whipped to form a stable consistency. This yellow hue colored concentrate has a crumbly texture.

Wax

The butane extraction method is used to create a wax concentrate. These are sticky like wax. You can even find them in softer consistency like watery-peanut butter. It is a failed product of shatter/budder because there are residues of lipid, fat, and possibly butane found because of incorrect purging technique.

Oil

A potent concentrate used for vaporizing or dabbing. Unlike shatter and wax, the consistency is similar to regular oil. It is often used to prepare cooked or baked food items. Oil is also popular as cannabutter and is the safest concentrate available.

Amber glass/Shatter

A skillful plant matter and butane purging create shatter. The product has a clear, orange/yellow hue. It is like taffy, easily malleable.

Bubble/ice wax

It is a clean concentrate form because the ice extraction technique is used. The trichomes are just washed with ice-cold water instead of chemicals. The end-product has a grainy texture, which appears like beach sand.

Dust

The dry ice method is used to make this kind of concentrate. The end product looks like powder or dust. It can melt with ease in warm environments.

There are several other methods used to formulate different kinds of concentrates like edibles, QWISO, finger concentrates, etc. Just visit the local medical marijuana dispensary and check the variety of cannabis products!
